Our First Bundle of Joy!

So after 38 weeks and 3 days of pregnancy
and 28 hours of really fun labor...

(I felt surprisingly lighter when my water broke
at 3am friday morning)

Charlie was obviously really excited to dress up and be in
the room the C-section delivery. He said he didn't believe it
when he saw them pull Reed out, it was amazing!

We were very excited to welcome our little Eric Reed Alvey Jr.
into this crazy world were we plan to love him lots and lots! He came
in weighing 8 lbs 13 oz and is 21.5 inches long, and growing rapidly, by
his 2 week appointment he was back up to 9 lbs after he lost
quite a bit in the hospital from our blood sugar issues.

He had many wonderful family and friends show up to
welcome him into the world, one of which was his cousin
Parker who was so cute and wanted to give him a hug but
Reed didn't like it(probably cause he's a BYU fan).

Little Reed thinks he's such a stud already just relaxing and
sleeping and eating all the time, just like a normal newborn I'm
sure, I just love to watch him while he sleeps cause he's so sweet.

He seems to really like bath time which is great cause I'm a
water loving person and now Charlie is too. I can't wait til
summer so i can take him swimming!

On November 5th mommy was mean and laid him in his
very first snow! He wasn't able to open his eyes too much
cause the snow was so bright.

He also met his closest cousin Brooklyn saturday, born just
9 days after Reed was born, I can't wait for them to be playing
together at family reunions, I loved playing with my cousins
that were around my age. Wonderful days.

On November 6th we blessed Reed and by the looks of it he                                     is very happy to have a name, his grandpas name at that,                                 unhappy to be wearing a little monkey suit.

Summer Fun(for some)

We started off the summer just like normal with a birthday party for Charlie!

Then the real fun began as we embarked on rebuilding the basement!
First comes walls...

then comes sheetrock...

with lots of mudding...

and always lots more fun...

and finally a well deserved nap after a long day of painting,
Erica was sad she couldn't help.

Erica went to Snowbird with her family in August
while Charlie was at scout camp...

Pregnant women don't need no stinking shoes!

Had a few baby showers.  This one led by the wonderful Aubrey Alvey
.
Celebrated three years of wonderful marriage!

Had a wonderful weekend at Trial Lake
where Charlie caught lots of fish,
about ten if you count the one that ate the one I actually caught.

We assembled all the baby furniture
and even took time to show off the baby belly...

37 Weeks!.................................................. 38 Weeks!

Youth Conference-ing the week away

Erica and I just got back from youth conference and it was amazing!  I just wanted to get on here and tell the youth how impressed I am with how they uphold themselves and treat each other with love and kindness very similar to how I imagine Christ treated everyone when He was on the earth.  Youth conference was really fun and I hope all the youth were able to have a good time and for those who didn't attend try to make it next time 'cause it is the stuff champions are made of!!!

Ragu or Prego?

If anyone still reads this and hasn't heard the news yet, Erica is pregnant!  She is due October 11th and we are having a boy!!  We are going to name him Eric Reed after his grandpa.  A little update after a year of not using this thing;  Charlie graduated from the University of Utah and is enjoying his job as a mechanical engineer at Hill Air Force Base, he has been there about 10 months, Erica had a tubal pregnancy in September which was really scary and sad for us, she also quit her job at the dental office and is a Senior Mary Kay Consultant, we have lived in our house for over a year, we are both in the youth program in our ward, Erica is a laurel advisor and Charlie is the second counselor in the young men, we celebrated Thanksgiving in Montana with Charlie's sister Shenille and family, Erica's sister Kate left on her mission to Manchester England about a year ago, we visited Zack and family for Halloween, Charlie's sister Krystal passed away in April and we still miss her tons (her family is doing well though and the Lord is blessing them), we went to Jed's graduation from BYU (he got a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering), we went to St. George for Taylor's baptism, etc...  Life is good.  Look for more exciting news coming at you in 2012!

Le Baja

Charlie's senior design project this year is a Baja style off-road vehicle.  He is working on it with nine other guys and they are going to Washington State to compete in May against 100 other schools.  His part on the vehicle was the suspension and steering.  It has been a really fun project and he will probably build his own now that he knows how.
P.S.  They built the thing from the ground up.  It is awesome!

Head hunting for houses

We got a house! Just a ton of paperwork left and we should be moving in by June. It is in Roy. Don't ask why Roy, we don't know either. Charlie is also graduating in May so things are going well. We hope he gets a job up there somewhere, but Salt Lake isn't that far away if he ends up down there too. Erica is still working away to put Charlie through school and she is going to be really relieved when he is done. How exciting!
